Floating Solar

Solaris Electrical Services: Renewable Energy on Water - Realize Floating PV Plants
Its floatovoltaic!!!
At Solaris, we have been proudly developing large-scale floating PV plants for commercial, government and non-profit institutions in India and Worldwide. Today, we are recognized as the leader of the floating PV market through the development of our innovative technology in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. Floating solar is a direct response to the lack of space and the conflict of land use. While providing clean energy, traditional PV may negatively impact the environment it occupies. Our viable, robust and economical solution presents many benefits compared to traditional PV. Tried-and-tested, Solaris is Capable and have tremondous experience in installing and is adaptable to numerous floating solar applications, such as hydroelectric dams, water-treatment or irrigation sites.

Through many years of experience, we have acquired a deep knowledge and a unique experience in the floating solar panels. We offer a full portfolio of solutions and services, tailored to our clients’ needs, including design of our power plants and consulting solutions to support project development and all aspects related with engineering, procurement and construction (EPC).

We deeply believe that innovation must be equivalent to cost competitiveness and be profitable to all Clients.

Overall

Floating solar has emerged as an alternate option for solar power project installation and activity is Gradually increasing in India, At Solaris we have installations ranging from kilowatt to megawatt scale. At present, there are more than 56 MW of floating solar projects which are under various stages of development and more are in the pipeline.

Floating solar technology is an alternative for harnessing solar power in places with constraints on land availability. Under this technology, solar panels are mounted on floating platforms on water bodies such as dam reservoirs and lakes.

One of the major drivers for this sector has been to optimise unused water bodies for installation of floating solar. The number of regions in India face issues around fragmented land holdings and high land cost, which has encouraged policymakers and utilities to explore the floating solar segment.

Floating solar technology has many positives to it. It can operate in a hybrid form with a hydropower dam reservoir and leverage the existing transmission infrastructure available on site. It helps in reduction of algae growth, is land neutral, conserves water through reduced evaporation, is a new source of revenue, leads to less soiling loss, provides ease of cleaning, and has an easy installation and deployment process.

“Depending on the topography, the savings in water losses from floating solar plants can be between 10-20 per cent. Further, because of better temperature control, the yield or solar generation is a little higher.

Our Services In Floating Solar Include

Design Engineering Service
Our professionals apply appropriate engineering solutions and design applications that ensure project performance and meet clients’ goals for quality, ease of operation and long-term reliability.
I & C Services
Floating Solar plants are easy to install and may not require heavy civil
construction in most cases.
The entire process of installation and commissioning can be divided into three steps:-
a) Site preparation and construction
b) Installation and
c) Commissioning.

As in any solar PV-based plant development,
the first step is to prepare the site. This involves civil works
for grading and leveling, excavating the foundation for
mooring and anchoring, fabricating a dedicated launching
platform for launching the floating platform into the water
surface (this depends upon access to the water surface at
the site), fabricating inverter housing, building embankment
for foundation protection, etc. Installation begins after the
initial site preparation is completed. It includes connecting
the rows of floats to form a floating platform, mounting
PV panels on the floating platform, connecting cables,
inverters, transmission lines, etc.
O & M Services
Since Floating Solar plants are installed on the water surface rather
than on land, it is relatively difficult to deal with O&M issues
in such conditions. There are certain parts like anchoring
and mooring that lie inside the water and are required to be
inspected on a regular basis to ensure the plant’s stability.
To tailor these, divers are needed, which adds extra cost
to O&M. Also sudden fault, instances like of bird dropping,
replacement of electrical parts, maintenance of cables and
wires, etc., are complex things to handle and require special
training to plant personnel.
Testing & Commissioning
We are Providing all services Including Testing and Commissioning in respect of all the equipment supplied and any other services specified in the Contract Documents.
